This Privacy Policy explains how Track Birthdays ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. We keep things simple: your data is used only to make the app work, never for advertising or analytics.

1 Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Track Birthdays, we collect:
- Account information — email address, username, and password (stored securely, never in plain text)
- Profile information — full name, profile photo, and your own birthday if you choose to provide them
- Birthday data — names, dates, notes, and photos of people whose birthdays you add
- Notification preferences — your preferred notification time
- Push subscription data — browser push tokens used to deliver notifications to your devices
2 How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the app's features:
- Create and manage your account
- Store and display your birthday data
- Send push notifications about upcoming birthdays
- Allow you to customise your profile and preferences
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
3 Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Profile photos and avatars are stored using Supabase Storage.
4 Third-Party Services
We use the following services solely to operate the app. Your data is shared with them only to the extent necessary:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (Privacy Policy)
- Cloudflare — background job scheduling for notifications (Privacy Policy)
- Google FCM — push notification delivery for Chrome and Brave (Privacy Policy)
- Mozilla Push Service — push notification delivery for Firefox (Privacy Policy)
- Netlify — web hosting (Privacy Policy)
We do not sell your data to any third party.
5 Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, your browser generates a push subscription token stored in our database. This token is used exclusively to deliver birthday reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your browser settings or profile page.
6 Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, birthday entries, and push subscriptions — is permanently deleted.
7 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and update your personal information at any time via your profile
- Delete your account and all associated data via the profile page
- Disable push notifications at any time
8 Children's Privacy
Track Birthdays is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
